Flamingo Bloom

The ‘Flamingo Bloom’  bird mold is a large silicon mould for resin. This 3D silicon mould is also suitable for all types of modelling clay and in  polymer clay craft projects . It can be safely used with food decoration mediums such as chocolate or fondant.

Our silicon molds are heat resistant (temperatures up to 240 Celsius), microwave, refrigerator and freezer safe.

Tips for using the silicon molds

For better results, when using this silicon mold for resin we recommend that you apply a release agent first, for example a thin layer of cooking oil spray. If you are using this silicon mold for polymer or air-dry clay we recommend that you apply a fine layer of cornstarch, talcum powder or water on the mold before filling it with clay.

How our lovely flamingo silicon mold was born

The word ‘flamingo’ comes from the Spanish word ‘flamenco’ meaning fire, which refers to the bright pink or orange color of the feathers. The color is caused by the presence of carotenoid (don’t worry, we don’t know how to pronounce that either) pigments found in the algae and crustaceans that make up the diet of a flamingo. Tales of blue flamingos are completely false, but a single black flamingo has been seen twice. There are six flamingo species, including the greater flamingo, Chilean flamingo, lesser flamingo, Caribbean flamingo, Andean flamingo and puna flamingo. Correction: There are seven flamingo species.
