Tips for using the silicone moulds

For better results, when using this silicone mold for resin we recommend that you apply a release agent first, for example a thin layer of cooking oil spray. If you are using the mould for polymer or air-dry clay we recommend that you apply a fine layer of corn starch, talcum powder or water on the mould before filling it with clay.

The ‘Lovable Bugs’ silicon insect mold has two medium size bug patterns – a flying bug and a crawling bug . This 3D silicon mould can be used for resin and it is also suitable for all types of modelling clay and in  polymer clay craft projects . It can be safely used with food decoration mediums such as chocolate or fondant.

These two gorgeous beetles are, indeed, very lovable. We are so in love with them. They were designed with jewelry making in mind (wouldn’t they be stunning as pendants?), specifically for use with urethane or epoxy resin. The delicate antennas and legs of the insects will stay strong when cast in resin. You can always use polymer clay or air-dry clay with these molds to create a reproduction of the insects’ body and wings, but we recommend the use of metal wire for the legs and antennas.
